Trying to find Repro 1500 beetle tail lights with no reverse lights?

Good morning!

I been on the prowl for some new tail light lenses to suit 1500 series 69' bug. I see plenty of repro ones with the reverse lamps, but my 1500 is 'pre' reverse lights.

Does anyone know where to get em?

I don't wanna run tail light lenses with the reverse clear section, as when i reverse, people will expect them to shine/glow.

Its for a baja, maybe my only option is to opt for 67' style assemblies?

Thanks,
Chris.

Mick motors have both the type with reverse lamps and without. About $18 each last time I was chasing some.

Hi

I can see that if you want to keep your car original you would try to source these tailights, I think having reverse lights is a great investment in safety for other road users and pedestrians. The're not hard to hookup.

I agree its a great idea :tu: But I don't think my early 3 rib kombi box supports such and thus there is no infrastructure to hook to.

I think you'll find the kombi box has a blanking plug where the switch goes, so it could be done with the addition of a switch and appropriate wiring.

The OEM lenses from Vintage are fantastic
