Engine bay seal

Has anyone here fitted an engine bay seal with the engine in place? I know it would be easier with the engine out but I'm lazy to a fault. I'm talking about the seal around the engine not the one over the back above the gearbox.

It can be done they are abit of a bugger particularly when the rubber has gone hard and cracked up,remove the rear tray and use a long bladed thin screwdriver to get under it and work along pushing one edge out (it will probably just break up),when it is all out clean the track out and straighten the dents that hold the rubber in place, smother the new one with talcum powder and work the edges near the cylinders first, then put the lower lip in the groove and feed the top edge in carefully.Wash your hands, fit he band aids to your nicks and dags and go and have a couple of beers.:tu::smilegrin:

Yep, definately doable. Did you get the ignition switch? I have them back in stock if needed

Right, I've got the ignition switch thanks Matt and I've got the Band-aids now to get the seal itself. I know I can get one from Cip but does anyone do them in Oz? It's for the cab with FI so the engine tin is different?

I've only got the two std early and late profiles. I'd try Vintage

Well, got the seal and spent most of Sunday playing with it (the seal!) . Done a lot of swearing and walking away throwing things and so far have about 12" fitted - 30 cms to anyone in metric! Need to to recover from the blood loss before attacking it again
