Interested to hear from anyone who has used the teflon coated slit bushes which are relatively new.
Is a split bush itself something to worry about?
The brass ones have been around for some time

New? those types of bushes been around probably longer than I have been alive lol
Very common in industry, electric motors etc... VW even used same thing in the front end, their OEM replacement bushes had some form of synthetic
coating, dont think its PTFE though. early ones were white babbit metal.
What actually surprises me is why no one is using sealed needle roller bearing on hard chrome throttle shafts like cars have been using since at least
late 80s. They are so reliable I have not seen a single one wear out even with 500K-1mil Km of use.

Yes, I used this type of bushes, but I prefer brass ones...
I think, that fitting a sealed needle roller to Solex carb is almost impossible, there is not enough "meat" around the shaft.

hmm didn't think of that. Been very long time since I looked at a carby.
