Trouble refitting twin port inlet manifolds.

Can anyone advise if there's a trick to refitting the left aluminium intake manifold section on a 1600 twin port motor? I replaced the rubber bellows that join the centre part with the carby on it today. The right side came off and went back on no problems. The left side one was a real pain to get off. Now if I locate the alloy part on the studs, the centre part where the bellows go won't line up, if I do it the other way and slide the pipe on first, it won't go over the studs. Do I need to pull the alternator and carb off to get it on or is there a trick to it?

Try with the centre sections support bracket removed.
