fuel breather?


Hi guys just wondering if the pipes that go up insides of a kombi near the air intakes are fuel breathers and are they necessary?Can they be cut off and blocked?Hope thats not too silly a ?

They are fuel tank breathers,they are connected to a rubber "T" piece and a tube vents to the air filter. If VW could save 1 cent per vehicle for something unnecessary do you think they would put the parts in?

You can block them off if you like but do enjoy a stuttery engine and having trouble trying to take the filler cap off :)
