Early type 3 wheel options

Wondering what people do fitting aftermarket wheels with the +46 offset.
Have been looking at cosmics or raiders/randars but a bit ignorant when it comes to offsets.
Standar height at the moment but looking to go lower- 2 splines at rear.
I`ve seen some posts on the samba with 25 offset with 195/65/15's.
Wheels im looking at are 20.

I have a swing axle four stud car but have just recently fitted the stock style chrome wheels, 5.5" rear 25mm offset and 4.5" front 43mm offset.

My rear 25mm offset wheels were dead flush with the rear guard and looked just too far out. The car was not lowered at the time but the tyre would just touch inside the fender when you bounced on the rear end. Assuming the wide 5 cars have the same/similar axles then this is where a 25mm offset would sit on a type 3??

I have now done a short axle swap putting beetle axles in place which are 30mm shorter so wheels now sit inside the guard.

The front wheels 4.5" 43mm offset were just fine.

For wide 5 wheels I always liked the wide five sprint star wheels. Offsets??

I have wide 5 sprintstars on my 67 notch with stock swing axle gearbox and original front drums, lowered one spline at the back and 2 splines at the front. I don't have any rubbing issues even with fairly wide rubber, 195/65 rear and 195/55 front. the guards have been rolled however by a previous owner.

OG sprint stars 5.5 wont fit...

For best result you will need to do the axle swap
