Type 3 floor repair sections
After 25 years out of a VW I put a 68 notchback in the shed on the weekend.
I'm thinking full resto and have changed the flexible fuel lines sorted the electrical issues and flashed the old girl up, couldn't believe it,
after a bit of persuasion notch sat there idling.
I will probably split the shell and pan due to rust holes in both.
So my question is can you get replacement floor halves or sections for a 68 notchback ?

I'm not sure that's completely the case? CIP 1 has things that look a lot like them. If so then others will too. Perhaps even in Aus?

I bought a set of type 3 floorpan sections from Das Resto parts, had to wait a few months to get them though.

Yes complete floor pan halves are available from us (dasrestoparts.com.au)
http://dasrestoparts.com.au/type-3-floor-pan-right.html
http://dasrestoparts.com.au/type-3-floor-pan-left.html
But Klassic Fab only do them as a special order now and hence there can be long long waiting times. Here is a set I put into my T34 pan:
Cheers

try ISP west in the states, Alex is the go to guy they do from short sections to full floor pans, i've just ordered the short section and it's gonna
cost me approx $230 delivered - just to put it into perspective another seller was charging the same for what looked like a beetle floor pan section
so you'll prob not find it here in Oz |
