VW industrial engines


hey
im contemplating an industrial water pump or air compressor or something similar to build as my year 12 major project.
does anyone have any info on these or have one etc??

What do you need to know? Have one, and have seen a few. They do come up for sale from time to time if you look out for them.

Volks power had a few when I was there AGES ago.

You could also just bolt a pump to the 1916 you re-building :D

a freind of mine stewart is picking one up at the gold coast vw show. are you going?
you could have a look at his.
he also has a few vw compressors, welders etc very interesting

Hi

A guy I know in Melbourne built a mulcher with 1600 Type 3 motor, he used an IRS gearbox with the blades running off the cv output, needless to say it didnt lack power for those tough tree trunks. That would be a useful project.

I used to do work for a seismic company that used VW engines to power a small drill rig that could be slung under a small helicopter to get to remote locations.

They used to have heaps of them. The engine used to operate a small hydraulic pump which drove the small drilling head.
