Need aid in finding Restorers (New)
Morning all. I'm a new Beetle (1969) owner and am looking into fixing the old girl up good and proper. At the moment, my focus is in re-doing the
exterior of the car, which will be inclusive of rust-proofing, and if possible converting the beetle into a convertible.
My question is simply where can I find a reputable VW restorer? I'm sure with the wealth of experience to be found in this forum, there will be
certain institutions which stand head and shoulders above the rest, and I'd like to know of these. Also, is it a viable idea to turn my VW into a
convertible, or is it just an unrealistic fantasy of mine? Cheers for any and all help. |

I live in Berowra, just north of Hornsby. However, if there is good feed back towards any restorers as far south as Picton and as far west as, well,
somewhere 3 hours west of where I live, then I would consider travelling.
I was just curious about the convertible thing, but never thought I'd actually do it. It makes more sense to purchase one already done anyway. |

if you want a good place just a little south of picton might i suggest Wayne Penrose.
He is in Unnenderra about 5min south of Woolongong.
I has done heaps of work on my car and i find him to be very professional and proud of his work.

yeah those chop top bugs tend to be pretty bad, they are usually rusty, and i reckon they are more likely to be abused
