fitment of cat converter ?
is there a lenth where you should place a cat conveter ?? I have all ways done my own thing , just asking all who may know :party
this a lenth from a Y piece if its a flat donk

yeah, that's right. You should mount it as close as possible to the engine, so straight after your merge.
Catalytic convertors don't actually start working until they've reached the correct operating temperature (which is freakin hot). So the closer to
the engine, the quicker it will get up to temp.
When the cat is cold the exhaust gases are much more harmful than when it's hot and operating properly. I've also heard cat's are useless after 1-2
yrs of use anyway. Don't know how true that is, or if it's just a conspiracy theory...

I've been advised to have the cat placed at the original distance from the engine on the exhaust so as to meet the original emissions when built.
