Queenslander!!! (cough cough vomit)

Is there anyone on this forum near the gap in brisbane with a timing light and feeler gauges? Someone who could at least go over and check the basics of sooty's kombi?

http://www.aussieveedubbers.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=3708

I dont want the neighbours having her locked up.

Its probably got worn out carbs like 99% of all kombis. But hopefully with some point gap it will run OK. Check the brake pipe elbows and balance pipe hoses. Wont take long and good karma will find you.

cheers :beer

what's the question? did I mention that the point gap was 16~18? I'm sure I mentioned that dwell was like 20deg. I adjusted the point gap to .16 or .06 for those that like emperial. The dwell angle (I think HOPE :) ) should be like 49deg

oh sorry..well I just hate doing tappets. I know its only 30min of your life but I really dread pulling off wheels and stuffing around. The funny thing is I don't mind doing it in my late model jap cars, guess 'cause I can stand up. That could be it!! who wants to buy me a hoist to find out if my idea is correct ? lol

take wheels off? man I dont even jack my kombi up. Just roll under the back and go for it. You did well mate. goodonya :thumb

when you sell off one of those kids sooty, see if you can get a valve adjustment. Just for my piece of mind. There aint many pieces there to spare.

If I sold one of my kid's I'm pretty sure that I'd get locked up.......no more crusin' in the kombi let alone a valve adjustment....won't be long before I'm making friends with the new one :)

Seriously don't know how I'm going to say good bye to Tom tho.

theres a bit of a slump in the market. I'm having trouble selling mine. Can I have one of yours then? Might be able to sell easier if I offer a package deal.
