Best rust treatment
Hi all I am about to do a rust treat ment on the dual cab. I have head that penatrol is good. and I have been recomended a penetrol lanolin coctail to
swill every where? What methods do you use to get it in? and what products>?
should I por underneath first or treat attend to rust and then POR?
Any advice welcome. mitchell

First you must eliminate all rust physically.
If there any holes or weak spots, they have to be cut out and new metal put in.
Then all loose scaley left over bits have to be removed.
Then a "Rust converter" for inner panels. This will be a milky looking substance and makes the left over rust particles more stable and turn black
or really dark purple.
Then plenty of rust preventative like fish oil or cavity wax will help protect what you have replaced and converted.
There is no magic product that stops rust forever.
Fix the rust that is there, then convert, then POR, then protect.

penetrol makes the rust preventative like lanolin/fish guts creep into all crevases. it works.
i have heard people using micro irrigation spray fitting on the end of hose on degreasing type gun to pull through heater channels and get a good
coating.
everyone has told me to get as rust free as per mr hell. bus above and then apply lavish fishguts with/without penetrating agent like penetrol. tho,
the smell of wool would be more appealing to the few weeks of fish.

That's why there is also body cavity wax. I find if you let it build up though, it gets like a crayon and can shrink and crack in winter. That would
let water in to the bottom of the wax?
For some reason the fishoil is the best operator. I suppose it protects the fish from water?

so we are agree... apart from the smell, fish guts rule.
and if you going toi do it, do when the weather is warm and dont park your car on any concrete/driveway you care about for a while after. haha

you can get de smelified fish oil. cant remember what its called, but is less stinky

K&H brand deodorised fish oil will only make you dry retch when applying, not while the lid is on the can. I suppose it is all up to your
sensitivity.
I vomit with the deodorised stuff still.
