For the purposes of Queensland Transport, you'll want to refer to the floorpan modifications as chassis reinforcement, not a 3" lift kit. They only
allow 2" lift kits. That rule is aimed at 4wd's where the lift kit raises the whole cab, therefore it isn't really the same as what the VW's do
when raising the body a little on the floor pan

Oh cool thanks wes yeah i knew it was something like that as the lift kit origninally came of off Brads Blue subi baja although has been changed a lil
.
Yeah Cram the water pipes run through the tunnel ,, they run in high pressure rubber water lines , the pan uses guides through the tunnel and out the
front and rear section for them . i can take a pic of what i have done with the rear section where the water lines exit out to the engine bay and ill
post em up ( something i havnt ever seen done before so it might be interesting to see what you guys think .
also thought it would be cool to weld my name and the year into the underside of the pan, heres a pic ( i mean why not right )
cheers guys

glad you guys like it been puttin galot of time and effort in and am
starting to get somewhere with the front end now should look good bolted
up to the pan.
riskybug the raised alloy checker is mainly becouse of the 3 inch lift ( therefore i lifted the tunnel section the pedals and floor where your feet
rest , the seats , by 2 inches . also the cnc pedals are a tad longer then the originals . by doin this the car will still feel like sitting in a
stock beele, and the windscreen wont be to high in proportion to driving postion ( in theroy). The driving postion will infact be slighlty lower still
but not by much though, this is to help add a lil extra head room for the chop top .
hope that helps and makes sense lol

your welding writing is very nice
I have the standard floor height, I just raised the seat. I think it gives a more comfortable 4wd like seating position, and more leg room. The
passenger floor is raised slightly as I have the air con hoses running under it.

nice work looks good
I'm interested to see your entry and exit points for the water lines, so more pics would be good. When you say guides in the tunnel for the water
pipes are they all the way down the tunnel? Can you easily change hoses out later?

Looking good James, a few questions for you:
- are you going to add some front end braces to help keep the front end from bending ?
- have you had the rubber pipe through the tunnel yet ? I notice that your front pipes are on a pretty serious angle and will make it pretty hard to
get em in
- what are you doing for seat mounts ? front and rear ?
- where are you running your fuel lines ?

lots of good points there so ill answer them the best i can
- yes there definatley will be front end bracing that will ties into the chassis braces ( lift kit ) and roll cage ( the fron braces will also support
things such as radiator spare wheel fuse box ect ect
- Yes the rubber hoses have been through the tunnel , and were used when fabricting the exit and entry points . although it looks quiet a steep angle
when the hoses are inserted there is no kinking or elongation in the hose which is a good thing . ( that was my main consern but it appears to have
worked out well .
- seat mounts , really should have had these in by now but the surface rust was starting to get away on me from the time taken to build the pan , the
seat set up modified vw seat brackets with aftermarket Adr seat specific slide rails mount on top of the seat rail ( directly under the seat )
- and as for the fuel lines this baja will be similar to my maroon baja, in the fact it will be a 2 seater , thus giving me more room to box out the
rear section and have the fuel tank in the back with a cbr1100 style filler cap moulded into the body ( lil ways before that appears lol ) Goin by my measurements ( put a fair bit of time into it so im
really hoping it will all work out well and go smoothly , everything shall fit nicley including a swirl pot.
and last but not least no the water line guides do not go all the way down the tunnel as there is no need for it to , and yes the water lines are easy
to slide through ( had a few goes at it now and seems to slide through quiet nice.
oh and also i did think about lifting the seat on the drivers side and leavign the stock height floor but i kinda feel like the steering wheel is a
lil close standard without having to move the seat a lil but further forward to reach down to the pedals properly . but thats just my preferance , and
one extra step i thought i would through in to help build the car to suit my specific driving style ,
cheers for the feedback guys any help or hints and lil tips along the way is very mych appreciated ,

If you wanted to take my car for a spin to see what a raised seat on stock a floor feels like, your welcome to. See if it felt weird or comfortable.
Although it looks a little too late as your pedals appear to be mounted rather permanently.
