Why wont anyone buy this?????
Ive been watching this poor 411 and this is the third time it has been listed.
If I didnt now live in a unit in the middle of the city and already have 2 too many cars to garage, Id grab it in a second! Ive contacted the owner
and he seems like a really great guy. He has told me if it doesnt go shortly, he is going to pull the motor/box and wheels and send the rest of it to
scrap. This hurts my feelings. Cant someone save a very rare and in my opinion, cool car? If anyone has the room, Id be interested in helping to save
it..... he's basically giving it away!
Looking forward to the replies on this.
Steve.

For $500 I would buy it...but when you add the freight to the price it is not worth it. I contacted him last year about it and formed a different
opinion of him to what you have.I wanted my white one to have a sister LOL...

seems everyones in the same boat
as ugly as they are with abit of work they can be mad into nice cars
at one of my old jobs the IT guys wife had a nice one that was lowered with hotwires that they owned since new and brought over from PNG
whats disturbing is if its gets any cheaper i can see someone just grabbing it for the ronals and scrapping the rest

A decent of set of wheels, lowering and they can look sweet. A Beetle box can be adapted to these cars.

Sorry Guys, but if you think the 411 is a cool car, you are in serious need to an eye check. Maybe you can call it weird, different, odd, unique but
certainly not cool

This is the 411 manual gearbox. Input shaft runs through the pinion shaft(same as the automatic boxes). Pinion is on the bellhousing side of the diff
housing(again like the autos).

Their cool i want it but got too much cars and parts already, looking at the gearbox selector shaft on the bottom, looks like a porsche trans swap
would be easy.
This is my Volkswagen, there are many like it, but this one is mine. Without me my Volkswagen is useless, without my Volkswagen, I am useless.

Yes, Dave. Its from out west of Sydney. Any info on it? Not that it would matter. He only wants 500 bucks for it...

Ummm....mate. You just explained WHY it is COOL!
Anyway, as Mick said, these things have a lot of positives. Im sure they come out with 2ltrs aswell. I did notice it isnt FI anymore. I thought they
all come out FI? Would be very easy to load up with a nice Porsche box, anyengine you could think of and some sweet (Porsche) wheels....
Go the first rat 411 in Australia!!
I do hope that if someone does buy it that they restore it...

you're right, the 412 is much better looking. the straight edge on the front of the bonnet makes huge difference.
