18" wheels????

Hey all. just found a nice 18" wheel and low profile tyre package on ebay. just wondering if its possible to fit 18" wheels into a 73 super? I still have the stock suspension which i plan on upgrading soon. just wondering if its possible to fit and if so what suspension set up should/do i need?
cheers guys!

i ran them on mine for a while

how wide are they?
most 18s are 8" and that on an Lbug kills your turning circle
mines already like a bus with only 7"

you'll need restudded brakes and narrow coil struts too

narrow coils or adjustable struts are going to be your first requirement, factors such as offset & width will be the determining factor
the other thing is, your going to need discs/drums to suit the stud pattern of the wheels, its not cheap but once its changed to something more common you can find 100s of wheels to fit, at the end of the day it is possible... just depends how you do it & if the $$$ are there to spend, call it 1k for adjustable struts & for the discs/drums check out volksconversions, i think they would be the closest place to you for the discs/drums :)
perhaps look at superbeetlesonly.com & germanlook.com if you want more of an educated idea.
