splitting the audio signal

It's just occurred to me that i need to split my audio signal more than i first thought....just wondering how other people have worked around more than 1 amplifier?

I am going to run 2 amps...

1 x Kenwood 500w stereo amp

1 x Kenwood 500w mono amp....

I was going to split my single set of pre-outs on the head unit...1 set to the mono amp...1 set to the stereo amp....but have just realised that the stereo amp is 4 channel and will require 2 sets of inputs alone.

Splitting the signal 3 ways is deffo not going to be great is it?

I have found some head units that have 3 sets of outputs, but they all seem pretty pricey :(

Is there some sort of powered unit that will split 3 ways without dropping too much sound?

I remember years ago i didnt have this problem as i was using a Kenwood EQ which had 1 set of inputs and then split it into front / rear / sub....hence why this time round i didn't consider it.

So how do you guys get around this?

Hi

I had a similar problem, with a twin magnet sub, I used this from Jaycar to split the sub signal at the amp. http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=WA7056&keywords=rca&form=...

Hi

I'm no audio expert, its working OK but to an expert it might not be ideal, were getting hair moving levels out of the sub with no distortion.

Good work on getting the 3 rca out deck.this is really the only way to run a system with multiple amps well.If you split an rca signal more than once you start to lose voltage so you lose some of the amp gain and signal quality.most amps these days have an in and out rca on them, they have a booster on the out to get the voltage back up.hooking amps together using the outputs is fine but you lose all fading and sub control doing it this way.
