Getting back into it
Hey guys.
I have not been on here in ages!
I own the rover powered kombi and about 3 years ago i got fed up with the ongoing maintinence and unreliability of it and bought a new F6 ute, and
rolled the kombi into the workshop and haven touched it since.
It's still licenced and that, and i thought ill get it done right this time and get driving it again.
The last straw before i parked it up was it was for ever running hot due to the standard mechanical pump not being efficient enough to pump 20L of
coolant to the front and back.
The other drama was the low tension lead on the coil kept burning the points and shorting out on something.
So first things first, is it possible to run an electric water pump while still retaining the mechanical water pump (leaving the impellor shaft in the
pump). so effectively it would be a mechanical and electrical water pump system?
The electrical part ill get some one else to fix
Its been a while and i miss the good times cruzing in the kombi down the coast, even my mates miss the bus
any help is much appriciated guys

mate, less burnouts would probably have helped the maintainance issues.

Quick update,
I have bought all the new stuff to replace the old parts i wasn't happy with,
I am sawapping the worn out non idiling twin 2" SU carbs with a new Edelbrock performer intake manifold and 2 barrel Holley 350cfm, adding a D/ Craig
115L p/min waterpump at the front of the vehicle to assist the rebuilt standard mechanical waterpump, Tow bar removed leaving only the bumper (tow bar
fuct).
The Car will be sent to auto electrician to fix the 'distributor melting wires' problem as soon as this is fitted to the car.
Ill post photos when i do it but dont hold your breath...
