....yes.....another eBay offering
I know I have seen this one before on eBay.
I think it belongs to ponybeetle....but I have been wrong before.
Anyway, I searched for a thread about this, but if one exists I haven't researched thoroughly enough.
It is what it is.
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/VW-VOLKSWAGEN-AUSTRALIA-RHD-COUNTRY-BUGGY-NO-RESERVE_W...
Started at .99 AUD
Now at $100.00 AUD
Six more days left to bid for those so inclined.
Fine tuning the proper daily ratio of Maxwell House to Bacardi 151.........

Me thinks this needed a "no reserve" auction to get the sale over the line.
Not much left of this one. Hope someone is making good use of the best bits.

Bidding has ended on this item.

Don't know what happened with this auction.
Last I saw it was listed at $152.50.........then the auction ended.
The ad doesn't indicate it sold.
It's mysterious the way the eBay CB auctions are going right now.
Regards,
Steve

This is now listed on The Samba.
$750........no clarification as to AUD or USD.
The eBay listing ended February 17.
I guess the seller is going to have go at a US based VW web site.
I agree Bill, this puppy needs a "make me an offer" in the ad text, or a 'no reserve' open bid process.
There's always wishful thinkers, and you can't necessarily blame someone for being upbeat and positive, though.
Listed April 20.
Wonder how long this one stews in the Samba Classifieds???

Back in the 70s when I was still at school “we” were building a racing buggy, in the good old days when you could keep up with the leaders with
standard beetle suspension. I remember Doc Plancis (in the Adelaide Buggy Club) was the first to turn up at Baroota with a double jointed rear end.
It was the ducks nuts. He broke a CV and didn’t finish. The word was that for a strong front end what you needed was a Country Buggy set up, but
they were rare, more than I could expect to find.
Well, someone must have found them. I can’t believe just how many country buggy bodies there are out there with nothing else country buggy in there.
Where did all the front ends and steering wheels go? I saw a “beetle with CB running gear” advertised in Adelaide a while a go, I advised him to
advertise it here but he hasn’t yet. There are so many parts missing from the CB world, where are they?
It’s such a shame to see things like this offered with “body only”, but even worse, to see things like that thing in England that was so
complete when it went there but now has been butchered beyond recognition. I hope it sells with all the left over bits. Who could cut the engine
seal metal strip out of any VW, it’s absolutely essential to the cooling, even in England? Ahh well, takes all kinds I guess, regrets will come
later. Even I may have cut up a few classics in my time, but nothing I’ll admit to.
My thoughts for what it’s worth, do what you like, but don’t hack the metal so that it destroys the authenticity of the machine, they’re too old
now for that, just like me, Lindsay, and Bill.
Cheers, Tony

Bevo,
I have to agree. I just want to see as many as possible on the road and, where possible, in original livery. There are more and more restorations
going on around the place and that is great news particularly as they try and bring them back as close as possible to original. In particular keeping
the body and running gear original even if one has to replace the mechanicals.
I reckon there must be plenty of front and rear ends lying out in the long grass on properties where the grass has grown over them.
