48 IDA Linkage...Which One?

In my 68 street Beetle,I have on my engine 48 IDA's on short manifolds GB587, small fan housing and a Berg Breather GB 207B.

Was using a centre pull linkage but I have a new large dizzy and the linkage no longer fits.
In the Berg manual they recommend a GB 451 for use with my Berg accessories. Does anyone know if the GB 455 will fit my application with the above Berg accessories?

Not sure if I see value in the Berg ones...But maybe I have to bite the bullit
Does anyone know if any other linkage will work with the Berg accessories I have?

If you have one, I may in the market to purchase.

Regards

Craig

I'm using the CSP centre pull linkage with a rather large dissy and it just fits.

Personally I think this is the best linkage I've ever used, however I'm using IDF's on tall manifolds.

Yep thats the one Craig, GB 451 fits the IDA's on those manifolds. Fitted one recently, usual Berg quality. I prefer Berg linkages, always good quality and real nice light throttle feel, and you get the carb arms with Berg, that's important as they are often worn on the shaft flats. I don't think any others come with arms.

HI Matt

What about carb sync and vibration? I've seen on other forums some have experienced this.
Would you have a good one lying around? With the amount of miles my car has done in the past 10yrs, I don't think I will need any replacement carb arms just yet!

HI Gracey

What size IDF's are you using? The 48IDA is probably wider at the base than all other Weber & Dellorto, so I wonder if the CSP will fit mine??
Is there a chance you could get a pic?

Hi Craig,

I'm using 44 IDF's and your right the IDA's are wider then the IDF's.

Are you using straight manifolds or offset manifolds?

In the many years of using them, I've only ever had sync issues when caused by fan housing issues, normally from aaxle tramp or cheapo alt straps or something similiar. They certainly last forever, but are heavy.
