argh!!! noise, there is things the track could do to reduce noise levels, the problem is it might mean tighter noise controls on the cars. I read in an Octane magazine about the decline of alot of british circuits due to noise... no good.

Believe it or not norfolk island would love to have their airport closed because of noise if it didn't mean that they would be cut of... idiots

Hi

I voted for it, I was hoping in the future that it could be extended.

Any track is a good track. If you live there and your not happy with it, move. there have been enough tracks closed down that people who dont like motor racing can just move.

Well they will keep building houses near race tracks....... They put tracks further and further away, then build next to them, and complain about the noise.....

I know some people who built a house close to Oran Park.........then spent the next 20 years complaining, and taking around petitions to get the track closed.:td:

It's a bit of a stretch to class everyone who complains about noise as wankers. There are plenty of genuine cases (e.g. people who bought or built in Albert Park, Melbourne before the Grand Waste of Money was announced) of discomfort and loss of amenity caused by motorsport.

Rather than the Tony Abbott head-butting approach to problem solving, it might be useful to consider whether noise screening and tighter car sound level restrictions, or even cancelling certain types of events could contribute to the continued operation of the track in cohabitation with people who live there 52 weeks a year, not just one weekend.

Posting this on a car forum will probably get me toasted! (dons flame-proof suit)

Huntley Hillcimb will only be around for a few more years at most.

Ocean views high in the escarpment mean its pretty bloody enticing for developers. A Greg Norman designed golf course has been mooted for quite a while now, and theres also a 100 room resort, 400 residential blocks etc... its goooone. I dare say if we had an elected council and/or Beth Morgan still in her job the whole deal would be done and dusted.

the complaints are from the people who own the property next door which there house is 2 km's away, plus they might be family of the people who own the track a little bit further south

I'd rather die trying, than not have tried at all.

bloody hell!

Hey! lets all move next door to a race way and not expect loud noise....
sheesh...

Its like buying a property next to a fricken air port. what? didn't know there was going to be noise? the airport would simply tell them to get stuffed if they wanted them to close... whoever was there first should have the right to stay. People should learn to adapt if they had made the decision to move there... Buy the place in the location for what it is. I wonder if the raceway can obtain signed petitions for communal dislike of the residential winging wankers that live nearby and send it the council so they can be thrown out instead....

The previous statements are not pointing the finger to those residents living nearby PRIOR to the raceways development.
