baja buses
so slamming your bus is the latest thing to do but I just dig the baja bus. Where have all the BAJA Buses gone? Who's got one? Post some pictures of
the monster buses and maybe to what extreme you've taken it.

How high do you think 11CABs bus is? Also what would a ballpark figure be to raise it up about the same height?

My latest project
Gday all. after a spell of health issue's & having sold the beetle baja I have started building a bajabus. I have cut the hole in the floor
behind front seats & sat a rover 3.5 v8 in hole behind it will be a hiace 5 speed using dellow bellhousing this box is similar to supra alloycase
box but remote shifter behind that again will be a 720 nissan divorced transfercase. I Have a set of front 4x4 spiindles being reamed to accept kombi
balljoint's & camber adjuster into them I have to move centre pin for steering out to clear the commodore v6 diff centre that iam using front
& rear the rear will be a factory slippery. I have looked at the steering on the 4 mules vw built into bay's to develope the syncro awd.they had
a double centre pin setup with short tierod's & seperate short draglink between both centre pins.I need help to put up pics if someone can help
out. Iam on the goldcoast every second weds thurs if anyone would like to come over & see what Iam doing.

albertnorley, sounds like a monster build you got going on there. Is it going to be road registered or strictly offroad?
Looking forward to seeing the build.

G'day day daydreamer. I have sat the engine in place to show engineer location. so hope to get go ahead to build for street use there's a maroon bay
on the gold coast running a gen 2 commodore v8 in the rear so I am hoping my little 3.5 sitting in a custom chassis attached to the original chassis
will be acceptable in the terms of strength so hope to now something when he get's back off hols.

Best of luck with the build ernie, sounds pretty crazy and i do like crazy. i'm interested to see how your front stubs turn out. Because to the risk
of letting the cat out of the bag, i'll be bajaing my new bus. using the subi engine and box i was preping for the beetle. I'm inclined to leave the
tranfer on the front of the box, incase i work out a way to make it 4wd later down the track.
Quit calling rust patina

G'day Nils. all of the measurements add up to them fitting won't know until I get 1 back from the engineer's to test there's 8cm's overall
between kombi stub axle & rodeo spindle hope fully I won't need to spread the beam's. I plan to lift it 2" front & rear. Been looking for a
set of bolt on flares used on some of the bays in this topic if anyone knows where I can get 4 I may cut front arches away & cut & bolt flares
to front door's to open with the door to incorporate a replacement arch I have been working on the steering pin today with a bit of work I have
turned the pin upside down so steering arm is on the bottom of the beam not in the middle this gives me plenty of room to mount the front diff I just
have to move the lock to lock adjusters over. getting a dud commodore irs diff on wed to start making mounting bracket's to bolt it in. will post
some pic's next week all for now.

Volks Conversions at Labrador sell the fibreglass flares for front and rear. The rears are copies of 40 series Land Cruiser flares, but the fronts are
unique to the Kombi

G'day matt how have you been as you see I didnt stay away for long once doc gave me the all clear to do abit now I have to finish the back room
extension that's been on hold. The kombi is at my daughter's on the goldie so only get 2 day's a fortnight to do work on it. but everything is so
simple in the form of adaptability it just atkes abit if time to think about direction the biggest pita was laying under 4x4's with a tape measure
to fing spindle's that will fit then getting someone local to ream out for lot bigger vw balljoint's. thanks 11cab for info on flares will drop
around to john's after easter & check them out. I have to arrange an adapter kit for son in laws bay. I picked up an ej18 on thursday for $250
including complete harness ecu radiator withfans for him. shed look's good 2 bays being built at once. Matt do you do lathe work I didn't look when
i was up last I have to get a bay axle machined down to fit into toyota gearbox yoke toreduce the gap between gearbox & transfer case if you do i
will ring to make time to come up.

G'day all. bought a davis craig electric waterpump & a remote oil filter cooler setup yesterday this will allow me to move the engine forward an
extra 100mm's took intermediate shaft parts in to be built. this will give me 75mm's so i now have 15mm's clearance on the transfercase so I may
have to remove some metal off the centre of the rear torsion bar tube these numbers will be more accurate as i get everything bolted together ordering
a dellow bellhousing on monday to bolt the toyota box to the rover once that arrives it's fit you bastard or only 2 wheeldrive. the engineer has
almost finished the front spindle hope to get it on moday so I can test it for the camber adjustment etc.By moving the centre pin to under the beam
has allowed me to retain the booster in it's original position good for me better fo the inspector as no welding or relocation. I go back down the
goldie in 2 week's so will take some pics.
