Ghia Door handles

Hi all

I have a pair of exterior door handles for 60 ghia that have bubbles under the chrome.
I took them to a chromer who was not keen to do them as he said the bubbles will reoccur due to the problem coming from within the metal.
Has anyone had any luck reconditioning these handles or better still where can I get a good set from?

I don't know if early ghia are the same as beetles of the era but my 72 has the same ones as a 72 beetle.

Someone else may be able to confirm that but, if they are the same, you can then just look for a good set of beetle handles.

Just recieved some from karmanngiha.com in the states, a bit dissapointing as they look like the ones I have with a new chrome job including pit marks from the bubbles under the original chrome.

Hi Ash,

I used Albury Electroplaters for pitted Ghia Door handles years ago and their work was brilliant, I hope it is still the same
