How to install bullet blinkers

Hi There,

I have a 55 Beetle and want to install bullet blinkers for further safety, the semaphores just aren't being seen and I keep getting horns beeped at me and people telling me I haven't indicatored!

If anyone has any instructions on how to install them or can recommend an auto electrician in the Brisbane/South brisbane area, that would be reat.

Kind regards

I fitted as set to my 60 model, i bought them from ESI parts, the bullet indicators complete, Left hand side, http://www.eisparts.com/111953041C.html  x 1 Right hand side, http://www.eisparts.com/111953042C.html  x 1
You will also require two backing plates,
http://www.eisparts.com/111953163.html  x 2
Total price for all the parts are $139 US.
I fitted them buy cutting the correct size hole in the mudguard in the right location so the weld plate fits in from behind, then i just used the large nut on the bulb holder to clamp them in place, it is not really a auto elections job to fit them as the wiring is only a small part, getting them to look and fit right takes time.

Hi
The trafficators [semaphores in US] are illegal in most states Now... You need front and rear flashing blinkers..

Ring Micks Motors in Brisbane and see if they could fit them for You...

or any other VW shops up there...

its a fairly simple job...

You have the blinker arm and just need a flasher unit and 4 blinker lights...
they can be fitted to the front and rear bumpers easily...

or You can add the front VW blinkers on top of the guards
as on 1960 models>
and use 1962 beetle tail lamps assemblies...

cheers

LEE
