What sender is what?
Got a new engine, but just need confirmation of what sender is for what.
Also, does each brand have a specific type of sender or should I be OK with whatever brand of gauge I buy?
Sender A - Which is in the bottom of the case into the sump. I'm assuming oil temp.
Sender B - Which is in the top of the case, under the distributor, I'm assuming this will be oil pressure
Sender C (which I'm assuming is Cylinder Head Temp)

First one is for oil temp but the range needs to match the gauge.
Would be easy to start from scratch with a new gauge and sender.
second one is the sender for the oil light
and third is remains of the head temp.
THey are actually supposed to be under the plug , out on the headstud like that it wouldn't have given a real close reading.
It's junk now you can throw it away now the wires been cut of it.

Thanks Joel,
The wire for the cylinder head sender actually snapped whilst I was removing the engine tin.
I think I'll worry about oil temp and pressure and leave cylinder head temp alone.

and MAKE SURE IT'S NOT TAPERED so many cases get destroyed because a tapered sender is used and over tightened and cracking the case

TAPERED THREADS .... BEWARE...
Hi
I have an oil temp sender same as Yours in a plate where the type 3s had their dipstick...
I tried 2 different gauges with different Temperature ratings
the temperature itself was identical on both gauges...
the oil lamp sender is in the 90 degree brass fitting...
You just need to be aware that some of these senders have the tapered thread... so, You use a thread sealer/sealant on the threads and just tighten
until they don't leak...
iF IT DOES LEAK AT SOME TIME.. just tighten slightly...
Making sure the leak IS from the thread and NOT the sender
Oil senders do leak on occasions.. as their cost is Very minimal
I carry a spare... lol

You can use PTFE teflon tape or a pipe sealant etc...
Never tighten until You cannot see the end of the thread..
the taper will crack the engine block....
Us oldies know about tapered threads... old steel water pipes have them as do garden taps etc..
