Bug pedal assembly and Subaru full throttle
Has anyone had problems on a beetle achieving full throttle when matched with the Subaru engine? I managed to work out my throttle cable issues today
but when I pin the roller pedal back the butterfly on the throttle body is only about half open. Anyone run into this problem? Should I worry? Any
available solutions?

I found the same prob too on my suby baja project , my plan is to lengthen the cable attachment arm of the pedal set to get the required 40mm of
travel for my EJ25

How have you got the throttle cable linked to the throttle body?
I had to tweak with mine abit, the radius of the throttle linkage is critical.
I made up a linkage which uses the standard VW barrel nut.

I'll get some pics tonight. I either plan on using the barrel nut or something I got off of a bicycle I bastardized to steal the cable tube. Used the
other 2 attachments already. It is basically a small bolt with a hole twords the head. As u tighten it flattens the cable against the throttle arm.
Pics will help to make sense of what I am saying.

kombi throttle cable them fit the outer subaru cable to where the metal tube comes out of back of the pan and use a stock beetle cable holder on the
end.

Did a little calling around. I was told that you can attach the cable at a higher point on the roller pedal. Higher point= larger radius. I will also
try this with the throttle body lever. Hopefully I can get enough to open it all the way. I want the tack to hit 7

Would going with a bigger arc be helpful?

Got to try this set up last night. Didn't retract. I think the angle is to sharp. To much drag on the cable. I'm going to try and make a tab of
sorts to get a more smooth radius.

I ended just up modifying the gas pedal for more travel. It was pretty simple.

The angle you've got from the manifold up to the linkage is too sharp.
Drilling another hole above that existing one on less of an angle or mount a bracket off the existing hole if you don;t wanna butcher the manifold
will probably fix your problem.
You want it more like the green line.
