new transporter doka

anyone out there that can either point me in the right direction for some unbiased feedback on the "genuine" towing capabilities of the 2012 transporter range. I plan on towing a van up to around 1500kg

If you can tow 1500kg with a little caddy tdi you will have no problems with the transporter. Once your rolling the twin turbo 2.0lt will put larger engines to shame, even the new huge crafter is running the same 2.0lt as the amarok/transporter. Getting rolling from a standstill up a hill with a load will test your clutch/throttle control but you could always get the dsg model to make it too easy.

I know a few people with Tdi T5's and some with plenty of towing experience. Basically, they all say that the T5 is the best towing vehicle they have ever experienced.

Over many years, I've had Falcons, Holdens, F 100, F150, V8s, sixes, manuals, autos, a Rover V8, even a '68 1500 Beetle [towing my Vee]. Nothing as good as my Tdi T5 auto. Have to agree with Matt.

I'd rather wear a Beetle out by racing it than by polishing it!
