2L Cant get the pulley cap off the end of the crank.
I have been pulling down my 2l engine in prep for a rebuild but I can't get the pulley cap off the end of the crank. I've tried tapping it with a
plastic hammer and had a small 2 arm puller on it but it won't move. It looks like some one has put permatex on it.

A 3 bolt puller in the fan mount, possibly a little warm and it will pop off. They are on a taper with a key and have to be tight or they destroy the
crank.

Normally, undo the three bolts and the fan comes off easily, maybe a wiggle by hand, but generally little or no persuasion required. The hub is
usually the only possible issue, at worst a little heat and it jumps off the taper.

Got it. Lots of heat, a bent puller and a big plastic mallet. It flew about 4 metres when it popped.
