Fitting Kadrons
Today I unleashed the "$5 home-made soda blaster" on the first of the secondhand Kaddies I recently purchased. It looks much better without the
rattle can gold bling!!!!
I was particularly careful to follow the advice to take care not to lose the little 'check ball' ball bearing ....... it's a pity that a previous
owner at some point didn't do the same. One of the accelerator pump nozzles is also a bit chewed up. A Venturi set-screw also missing.
So my question is .... Is there anywhere locally that I can buy replacements? Or do I need to try kaddieshack or lowbugget?
Anyone have any spares?

Next question ........
Neither carb has a vac port on it. Dr Google says its a relatively simple procedure, but there is no way in hell I'm taking a drill to them!!!
Anyone nearby who's done the job before? Or can anyone recommend someone to do the work?

Just had a quick chat to Peter ...... 25 minutes If he's nothing else
he's passionate!!!
I'll be packing the Kaddies up and sending them off to him to get the treatment. I might as well do it once and do it right otherwise I'll just
struggle with them and get the shits!!

So the kadrons are back and I fitted them this morning. Fire up okay and will now get them tuned ....... but I've got a couple of issues. I'm no
expert so in laymans terms...
The linkage seems to be too short. If I attach it to the left side only all is good. If I attach it to the right at the same time it partially opens
the left throttle. It's a stock Kadron linkage and I've set it at maximum adjustment. I have ordered a CSP linkage, but not sure when it will
arrive. I'm figuring that I'll need to manufacture and extension for where the two parts of the linkage join.
The point at which the accelerator cable attaches to the linkage seems to be all wrong. Could I have a 'non' beetle linkage? To attach the cable to
the linkage I have to pull the cable over tight to the point that it has the pedal flat to the floor. Doing my head in.
Is there anyone living in the Torquay/Geelong area that has a set fitted that I can have a look at?

If I'm looking at the cable connection point in the 'neutral' position it is sitting at about the '7o'clock' position; 12 o'clock being the
front of the car. I would have thought it should be at about 9 o'clock, the whole movement seems really jerky to get from neutral to acceleration,
combatting the angle of the anchor point.

The 7 o'clock position sound about right at idle as mid to high throtlle should be around the 9 o'clock position .
You do have the left and right carby in there correct position , i'mm assuming , as the offset on the carby linkage on the carby's themselves are
made to keep the linkage rod as straight as possible across the engine with the offset of the cylinders

In looking at your manifolds compared to my original kadron manifolds , they do look to make the carbys mount further apart than normal due to the
angle of the manifold as it come off the head .
What measurement have you got from centre of butterfly shaft to centre of butterfly shaft .

Have your carbs been taken apart and re-assembled since that pic at the top? Looks like the left throttle control arm is assembled wrong in the pic.
Both carbs should look identical, except for the manifold. Also, looks like manifolds are shorter and angle more than mine, which could be why your
having trouble connecting the linkage. Could you borrow some manifolds to compare and test fit?
