how long did it take you to grow your hair long enough for dreads?

im using this year as a year of developing patience... patience enough to grow my hair and get dreads.

its pretty hard when youve had a haircut every 6 weeks for the past 7 years...

so how long did it take you?

ah, from well kept to unkept. you don't need hair overly long, it'l jump up a few inches when you get them. throw some wax goop in and get some mates over for a few hours of solid rubbing :)

you got it alll wrong littlebugga.

it took me a year to grow my hair the length it was when i got them done (not even shoulder length). now, you can go to a salon and get them done... but my hair not even shoulder length would have cost 400.
instead, go to http://www.knottyboy.com.au
for 90 bucks you pick up the diy kit. when ur hair is long enough, let me know and ill do it for ya. ive done dreaddies 4 times now, all with the knottyboy.com kit.

or, try http://www.dreadheadhq.com  the friendliest site in the world!

LOL

i tried the rubbing method first. all it did was hurt a lot. my straight blonde hair didnt take to it, thus we went the semi professional way.

ive had em for a year now and if i had the choice i'd never cut them off!

bourbon is gross man. and wild turkey costs an arm and a leg where i work. jimmy or cougar or even JD is cheaper. cougar is house but out of all boubon its gotta be the shittest.

forgive me for my hypocrasy but ive been drinking champagne lately. Alisha from work kinda got me into it. pink champagne.

smirnoff blacks are pretty good too. with a bit of grenadine in it.

man, i still remember when i did mine. i couldnt even shake my head my scalp was so sore. ive heard people compare it to a tattoo, but i reckon thats a bit extreme.

ahahahaha! anthiron the watering hole i frequent when im in canberra sells $4 pints! POD - turkey and coke... your not from minto are you?
anthiron - carlton draught... LOVE IT! its brewed in the bottle, so it has a best after date hehehehe. i like carton premium better

my dad drinks tooheys red but dont hold that against me...
