I just want to apologise to Wayne and Morgan for not finishing my car so I could go and play on Saturday. It was a good day and I would have loved to
have raced. Congratulations to them both for their efforts. Wayne on his PB and Morgan on the race win.
Thanks for coming down guys!

Nick , you dont have to appologise to anyone mate . The fact that you didn't go to work on saturday for the first time in years , just to come and
support those who were running meant so much . It would have been great to have your car there , but it wasn't meant to be this time . There will be
other opportunities in the future and I look forward to seeing your car run then .
Those who dont have their own business could not possibly understand how you have to juggle your precious time for workshop work , customer enquiries
, orders , paperwork , family and then find the time to do the massive amount of work required to prepare a car to run times like ours are running .
Stay cool and dont stress . Wayne .

10.44 @ 131.39 mph
The junka improved again yesterday at Heathcote.
Still not launching it correctly it 60ft'd 1.57
I put a wing on the rear and it looks crap but it settled the car and it felt like it was doing 100mph. I made the wing detach in a few minutes with
only 6 nut serts in the body. Now that it feels so good I plan to put a bit more power into it.......more to come !
give me time and I'll put some video up.

I dream of 22 degree air temps! :cussing At night driving around in the rain the best I can achieve in Cairns at the moment is about 25 degrees off
boost. Still thats better than the 35 degrees in the middle of the day.
Congrats on the new time. :thumb Post up a picture of the wing too!

Congratulations Nick - great to see another beetle into the 10's! :thumb
So apart from the addition of the wing, any other changes made to make up half a second (from the 11.02 last run from memory - could be wrong though,
apologies if that is the case)?

Congratulations Nick on getting your beetle into the 10's !! I am totally impressed mate . Would loved to have see it run , but maybe at Warrick ?
What sort of boost are you pushing into that sucker to get it to go half a second faster ?
Were you using slicks and bars on the back ?

Hey Wayne,
Once again sorry I couldn't get it happening 2 weeks ago so we could play.
from day one I have been trying new cam combos with this thing and it has always made the power but have had issues getting boost off the line. It is
only a 2233cc and it is crucial to get it all right. I am getting there and feel that it has a bit more in it with more playing around. The aim right
now is to get the 60ft more towards the 1.40 mark. one tenth in the 60 ft is worth two tenths in the top end!
Warrick would be cool but I will see how work is going closer to the date.

Once again Nick , NO appology needed !!
I will now lay back a visualise what it would have been like to have 2 street bugs run 10.4's side by side . No regrets....there will be plenty of
other opportunities to go and race and have fun . Cheers mate .
Can you post pics of the rear wing Nick . I am interested in its design if it has stabilised your bug so much , as the oval is walking all over the
place at 130mph .

Congratulations Nick!
You deserve it.
I've been waiting about 10yrs for this to happen.
Your dedication and persistence has finally paid off.
You have put Melbourne on the map.
Just a little suggestion, how about a cage for safety's sake.
Nathan (Higgins) and I want to Heathcote a couple a weeks ago, and on the second run, at half track (113mph) he blew a cooler line. Needless to say
the car spent the next 200+ meters snaking down the track and going past the finish line completely sidewards.
He was extremely lucky to miss the wall, but at the speeds you are both doing safety is of primary importance.
Sorry to sound like your mum, but watching something like this makes you think how quickly shit goes down.
On a brighter note I fixed his car, he changed his underpants and he ended up doing a PB of 9.6@144.
