The question is.... Would the principle give me 4 days off to go watch some racing in Victoria?

Funny you should say that... She use to be a professional rally navigator on the euro circuit back in the 80's!!!!

But I don't think I could handle her hanging around.... She'd cramp my style!!!

Ready for Portland

The car is all together and ready for racing.
We didn't get time to finish it as we would like so there will be not carpets. Also we had not time for testing and I have a nail in my street tyres so I will be leaving them behind.

Due to the lack of time and no testing with the new set up, I am not expecting great things but Portland should be good to sort a few issues out for the future.

Great stuff Nick.... You and your bro should be stoked with the efforts.... I can't make it to Portland this year unfortunately.... The school year having only just started, I can't afford the time off at the moment.... But pencil me in for next year.... I plan to cut back a bit on my teaching load and have a break for the first time since 94!!!

I look forward to seeing some good times (both kinds!) coming for Portland!!!

Portland 2009 Update

Well after all that work to get the car to Portland it was an awesome weekend. It was good to catch up with everyone again and I have already started improvements on the car now to get it all done for Warwick.

I am happy with the rear end as it went straight as an arrow, but being the first time out we spent Saturday sorting out the launch with out bogging on a VERY sticky Portland track. I am not familiar with such a good track so we were struggling at the start. Also I still have a slight miss in the top end after changing a few things on the car. The miss is the reason I pulled out of Warwick 2008. I am now changing the hole intake system over to blow through and a water cooler like in Marks green slime.

On Sunday I think I shifted a bit too aggressively that moved the shift fork between 1st and 2nd ending my weekend.
(driver error)

The car felt so good that it felt really slooooww and was 3 tenths and 4 mph slower than it has gone.
So the best of the weekend for the first time out was a
1.83 60ft
7,05 et
100.22 mph

Intercooler pics

As I have said in the past it's time to get serious and go blow through for some real power. I have been putting off building the intercooler for ages now because it is so much work. Just trying to make something fit but also work is a struggle, so I decided to just plonk it in the car. I am a big fan of making things as accessible as possible.
