There are still places available and we can accept entries on Saturday, but the earlier you get them in the less PITA it is for all. (Payment will
need to be cash on the day)

Thank you Chris & all your helpers on the day, I haven't been for a few years so it was great to get back on the track, albeit a little slow.
Thanks for the great weather too!
Rudi & I sat on the hill in the sunshine in T shirts!
Massive thanks to Boris from Vintage Veedub for all his help in sending me parts for my suspension in the weeks leading up to the event. Wouldn't
have got on the track without his help

Great event. Well run, and all 66 compeditors seemed to manage the
numbered grouping system with ease.
Took me all day Sunday to recover, so the '56 cabriolet didn't get to the show.....next year?
It appears that poor old No.8 Beetle is all wrong for the supersprint, judging by what almost everyone else is driving now. Maybe these are the
problems:-
Engine hanging out the back.
Air-cooled.
Not turbo-charged.
Swing-axles.
4 speed VW box.
Drum brakes.
Wide 5 wheels.
Stock front beam, etc., etc.
Lots of fun, though.
I'd rather wear a Beetle out by racing it than by polishing it!

Firstly thnaks to all the organisers, Club VeeDub and other competitors on the day.
3rd Wakefield supersprint iv attended and second time in my own car.
My nataionals started out with a wheel alignment on Tuesday and a full car check over.
Finished uni early Thursday and jumped in the car leaving Melbourne around lunch time and arriving in Wagga for beers and mexican. Friday was spent
helping some mates get their car ready for a spray booth.
Arrived in Goulborn Friday night had a quick feed and jammed 7 people into out 3 person room. (Budget accommodation there)
Quick feed at Mcdonalds to arrive at a nice looking track that I could actually see 2m in front of me this year! (No thick fog as id seen before).
Swapped my front wheels, slapped on some numbers, car checked and papers signed.
Think i completed 5 or 6 sessions in the car improving as my day went on. Last year the quickest I went was 1:25 this year I did a 1:22. So im happy
for my daily driver come track day warrior.
Think I was the only interstater to drive their car and race so im happy. 850km's to the track then 28 laps, drive to Sydney for the show and then
home again. Didnt use any oil, and no problems. Was a pity someone keyed my car whilst parked at our motel Sunday night! (Cant own anything nice these
days)
Well done to all the guys and girls out there! Would love to see more VW's at the event next year! That charade is crazy with a 1:05.
I have a few suggestions for speeding up event sign on and scrutineering from my experience with our car club at home.
Ill post some photo's and footage once I get them sorted! Thanks!

Waterboy, we had a 2500km round trip, left friday morning at 5am and arrived home at 1.30am Sunday night! Epic!
not to mention we replaced the head gaskets last weekend and only got the car running on Wednesday night.
can't wait to Valla for 2 days of track work....

haha, trailer yes not to sure about the queen! last year we towed it with the T5 and this year the new Amorok, more comfy but heaps more fuel than
the T5....
had some issues on the first 3 runs with turbo hoses blowing off under 25psi but the fourth outing was good and then she got hot on the 5th, got some
coolant on the rears and spun at the turn 6.....

There are always opportunities to run a better event. I think there were some improvements this year but overall it was a better run event last
year.
Starting from 7am... Because a lot of our competitors are once a year racers there will always be licences and club memberships to do. There will
always be entries on the day. Thats just the nature of the beast and why we have the express lane/slow lane. We had more people doing doc checking
last year but I dont think it made it any faster, just more crowded.
7:05am Needed more scrutineers. At least 2 more. That was unnacceptably slow. I tried to multi-task and do some myself but only got a handful done.
9:45am Took too long to get the officials out on track, and then there was some issue with radios. We had no fog this year but still didnt start on
time.
Up until lunch: some people had polite complaints about being held up by traffic, which is not a bad thing as you're out there to go fast. Normally I
would have had a printer set up to make lots of adjustments to the grouping and running order on the fly. Because I didnt have a printer cable I
couldnt do that. I only got time to do one lot of hand written adjusting during the lunch break.
But on the good side, I didnt have any verbal attacks. Everyone followed directions all day.
Having numbered groups worked better than colours based on lap times. I think having multiple green groups for example caused confusion last year,
which caused frustration, which caused aggro.
I dont know how popular it would make me or if CAMS would allow it, but I would personally like to exclude the formula libre/clubman/buggies. If we
had a bigger turnout of vees it would be OK but we only ever get 4 or 5 cars, and those 4 or 5 stop everybody else from getting another full run in.
I'm not saying that will happen next year, its 100% my own view.
If anyone wants to make suggestions please do, either here or to my email.
