What year is the body ? Are they early handles on the doors or am I mistaken ?

This looks a dead ringer for a car I once owned (apart from the fact mine had a bug eye kit on it and not quite as much clearance), and sold a few years back

that's MAD and almost exactly how I'd do one but at the risk of being a picky --nt I reckon that exhaust will kill low-down torque and bush/low speed driveability

Gas flow. You don't get the same 'extraction' with dual exhausts. My bro had a Baja years ago (1640cc, Stan cam, Holley Bugspray) and I remember it went like a cut cat when we replaced the dual cannons with a 4:1 system. Might be something to keep in mind

ahh, but it dosent sound as good... besides if you have twin exhausts, you can snap an extractor on one side and rather than sounding like a crappy lawnmower (as is case if 4:1 with the enevitable extractor snap..)... It sounds like an extreemly powerfullllll lawnmower! Another bonus is you can patch it up with a beetroot tin and diet coke cans..... (hmmm works for me, been like that 4 nearly 5 months now...bewwwwdddyy...) ;) I say sacrafice the power in favour of functionality...

I tried the coke patch,, but it was no good, only lasted 2 drives. The beetroot is pretty good, I shall keep pal in mind!

The only problem I had with beetroot was that there was a slight difference in the two pipes..( 4 coke cans thick to be exact). Too much movement and a whizzy sort of tone. After some very scientific reseach and engineering.. I discovered this was the best way to achieve the correct rumbly pitch required:P The downside is the hoseclamps I used need the odd tigten every now and again!:thumb

sorry bit o a hijack here.....

so terry,, u gonna have it ready 4 blackduck????;)

Did he happen to get it tuned and jetted correctly at any time when it had the duals on it? What about after he'd replaced it with the 4-1. I have my suspisions that this has more to do with tuning then tha actual exhuast.

The 4-1 might have just happened to have been a closer match to the tuning of the carbs.

I could be wrong but I find it amazing how many people out there bitch and moan about the performance of their engine and how crap a particular brand of carb is that didn't work on there engine etc.. when they haven't even bothered to get the carbs rejetted by a professional dyno tuner.

I'll get off my soap box now....

oh I feel like useing a xmas tree again.. merry xmas.. :tree

Not sure about the email to Brad - may be worthwhile shooting him another one as sometimes mine don't get through to him - his work may have some strange censorship blocks?

Will be good to see some more pics of this Baja beast soon! And congrats of course on taking the reigns of Custom Offroad...at least all your money spent there in the past has helped to keep the business alive for you to run now!
