Doesn't Colin live up that way?

Back to the topic, "Retired VW Racers". I was hoping this would be more VW related than Retired Racer related.

Jim Richards and John Bowe drove VW beetles (Probably Marcus Ambrose too judging by the way he drives!)

i remember john bowe once telling a magazine or a tv show or something that he lost his virginity in the back of a VW bug and it caught fire while they were doing the deed.

Christian, Colin lives at Tamworth.

Kevin Bartlett also raced a VW at some stage.

Who raced the Beetles at Bathurst during the 60's?

Hi John, welcome to the forum. It will be good to have a voice of reason on here. I hope you stick around.

Hey Craig, are you already practicing your winning speech for the Hill Climb Championship? I've got some thought starters for you:
"I'm just a humble bloke."
"It's the sport that won at the end of the day."
"I'm not going to talk about my engine builder."

And Jak, stop putting people in retirement!

i was going to say craig but it'd be wrong (and lying :P ).

i couldn't say he's my favorite. but george reynolds is someone whose exploits i'd like to know more about.... i think it was him who ran a mod'd 1200 back in the day that ran standard (sp) heads that had been welded etc and turned into twin ports.... supposedly fast enough to see off 3.8 jag's.
there were also released tuning parts under his name...

anyone got more info?
