No offence, but for $15k you can buy a great buggy that's already finished and regoed.
Seems quite steep. What the advantages of them over a buggy?

I Guess that 15 K is a bit steep. However The advantages include,
,
Fantastic Build quality and design, The fiber glassing is top quality.
The combat has a full sub frame Most buggy's don't,
One of he big advantages over a buggy is a simple one " Doors"
Not to mention how good they look

They are more functional than a buggy, with the option of a hard or soft top.
There is boot space in the front, and an optional rack on the back. They fit on a full pan, so you also have a back seat.
As for the price, the kit is built in the U S, a good portion of the cost is the freight and government fees and charges.

If you have a look at other products on the market the I think that you will find that the prices are about average, Look at the Sharp built Limo
Buggy -- Turn Key is about $ 25 000 For a base model, Aus Buggy's are about the same, Rhino buggy's start at about $ 40,000 for there replica
Humma.
So take into account things like the Sub frame, Bull bars, and bash plates that are standard, all said and done, it's above Par with other Kits.

how heavy are these things.
you need to get one going and get it out in the dunes and on the tracks and at the shows. there is little doubt that there's a market for them.

and its topped a ton... what tyres fit under the rear guards... 31s, 32s....33s eek.

In the U S there is a Combat with Th Th Th 35's, Its raised a bit,(But not much) and all the joints are tuffend so it doesn't chew through bearings.
it looks GREAT, The owner runs a turbo subi to push that rubber.
The standard is a 29" to 30" tire,
The standard off roader runs a 1915cc vw engine (@ 100 Hp)

Last time I looked GS Limo Kits were about $7000 including barwork dash windscreen etc.
BBA has their prices for everyone to see on their website. http://www.beachbuggy.com.au/
But for the lazy here is a summary of BBA prices.
MAX fx Beach Buggy Shell/Bonnet $3,080.00
Dash – Black $231.00
Dash Frame $275.00
Polished Alloy Windscreen inc Glass $517.00
Lower Frame Screen/Bonnet Rubber $20.00
Body & Bonnet Rubber Seal $55.00
Manual $45.00
Zinc Nuts & Bolts/Sikaflex Kit $90.00
Roll-bar incl base plates (unpadded) $920.00
Front Bar 2.5" dia $440.00
Rear Cage $595.00
Side Bars $535.00
Total $6,803.00
So a beach buggy kit whether is be GSLimo/Sharpbuilt or MaxFX/BBA is about $7000

Above par? or Above price? From my calculations it's about twice the price. Fair enough it's got doors, but $8000 for doors?
A new complete Suzuki Jimny is a bit over $20K and it's finished with a 3 year warranty, is totally new, is easy to insure, and is 4WD.
The jury is still out on this, the people will decide whether they buy or not. But that's my 3 cents.

Hi Mike just wondering if you can tell us all the price of a TURN KEY buggy from BBA,
????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
They want $25,000 for there base model and sharp built want $ 24,000 for there one.
So using the same 1600cc engin the turn key combat will be around the same price.
And I dont Think that Suzuki still makes the Jimny....

Beach buggy's built by GSLimo/Sharp built or MaxFX/BBA are about $7000 for a kit,
and they are also very good quality, and i think that they look great.
The Combat Kit does cost a fair bit more, but I was talking about the Turn Key where they cost about the same.

I don't know how much a turn key is from BBA. It varies depending on what you want.
I know Sharbbuilt used to do a $16K turnkey based on a 1500 beetle floor pan (Swing axle, BJ) with the standard 1500 motor.
On the other side of the coin, what's the Combat Kit consist of and what's it worth is AUD?
Suzuki still make the Jimny, and now I've looked the base price is $18,000. Look here:
http://www.suzuki.com.au/cars_JIMNY.asp
PS. I think that the Combat is cool and I would drive/own one. Howver, I'm not willing to pay $25K for one.
I'm also not trying to be a pain in the ass here, but you have to be realistic about the competition and how many of these you will be able to sell.
Allot of people on this forum will go "I'd love one of those" or " I'd buy one of those" with no intention of ever going through with the deal.
We're all dreamers.

Yes the people that make the Wombat are making the Combat.
With a few Differences, 1 being a right hand configuration,
and other differences are for the Australian design rules.
The Australian ca is called the COMBAT.
