just curious, how much does it cost to hire out the track?

if it runs on the same weekend as the show then i will be running,
i will more than likely run even if it is not on the same weekend.
Just alot easier if it is all done on the same weekend.

How many would run if the entry fee was $150?
I think that is what it would cost to be viable as a stand
alone VW/Audi event....that it why businesses are normally
asked if they would like to use the event to advertise their
products and services(ie sponsor).

I dont understand why we cant have the drags and the show at Eastern creek ? Wouldnt that be more viable ?

I would never race at eastern creek again.
It is unsafe and unsanctioned to hold dragracing.

$150 isn't scary.
To come from Melbourne it is allready:
Trailer hire $150
Fuel $450-500
Accomodation $300
Entry fees $??
Car Show fees $??
It adds up very quickly if you want interstate compeditors.
However, if there are no drags, I wouldn't bring the car.

Well, I just red in Extreme mag that PowerCruise is book in for 2006 Easter time and 3 years after that ! This is at Easteen creek. As we know from
this year,they wought let two events on at once.( 1 at creek and 1 at wsid ). I think that 2004 event was cool running at a test &tune event with
other car types as well ( more people the better ) and some vw people getting a little drag racing eduction as well . A vw only event just isn't big
enough for anyone to take on. Even in England they run with everyone else.The next best is to run with a Import style event and have talks with the
about classes.Like this years event. ( sorry about spelling - petrol headache.)

I see that on the WSID website , there is an event booked for the 15 April for Bikefest starting from 9am.
Does this mean that there is no racing at the Nats in 06?

Never rely on the oranisers of the event to tell you that it is, or isn't on.
I am going to ditch the VW Nats and run the Feb Import meeting instead.
Couldn't wait till it is too late....at least it has been booked.

I think thats a better idea than organising a VW nats, just pick an event like a sport compact one and just bomb it with VW's! Get a good crowd of VW
supporters there as well and it should be a good day.

Is this right?....The Nats have dropped the drags? Its a shame if it is so....
The last time I raced in Sydney (Oran Park) was back when the BERG's were in town....
It was a blast to drive from Perth, via Adelaide to pick some of the SA boys....
We crashed early at Boris' place on Satuday morning, went and dragged all day at OP, then hit the show the next day....
What a trip.....I took a month off work to do the trip...But brother did it cost!
On the way back I hit an Eagle just this side of Eucla....
That hurt! Pushed the roof back about a foot!
But it was all worth it, just to race, see some old mates and catch some of the hero's of the day doing they're thing on the track....
The only way for this to continue it to attract sponsors and the big guns....
Then the punters like myself will hit the track....
Im plannin' on coming over again '08...Hopefully this little problem will be behind us...

No confirmation or denial on Day 1 of the Nats, The Drags?
WSID still has Bike fest mentioned, although there are no details.
If it is on, interstaters need to know now in order to book and make plans. Can someone from the club please update us?
