as fastnuf said this same thing happened at Bathurst. The regs do allow the event organisers descrestion when it comes to the amount of runs you run just in case things turn to sh*t. I agree it is pretty poor when you dont get the amount of runs intended but, the unfortunate thing with the buladelah event was there were 5 serious crashes that did take a lot of time to clear up (and no one was seriously hurt). No matter what you do you wont stop drivers crashing...I agree there may/should have been less competitors entries excepted but no matter how much it annoys me to say this, I believe they should not miss out on the day for the benefit of others.

I like a lot of other people doing this championship have invested a lot of time/money and I believe the points will and should stand. Thats not for the fact I won (Imp pro 3J class) but because it makes for a very tight championship for the class at the end of the day. Drop the points and it works in my favour. In all honesty if thats the way I get a state title then I rather not have it.nn[ Edited on 27/9/2005 by bat69 ]

Its poor form that the club concerned didnt take the NSWHCC competitors interests at heart and stop the non registered from running while the registered did their minimum. People invest a lot of money into a championship. One of our guys travelled 700kms round trip and paid $1.20 per second track time.

Get real its not formula 1. Its up to the clerk of the course to call the event.

sorry dude, your reply goes way over my head. Dont know what you mean. Im aware the COC has power to call an event. I've been doing it for near 10 years. I asked if the results from this event count towards the series titles because I didnt think it complied with the series reg of min 4 runs. Im not saying it should be discarded, was asking a question, hence the question mark. My mates would lose their championship points too. I guess if the bathurst round counts then this one will too.

Keeping it real.

Is it not the case one run can count as an event as long as the entire field get a run, record a time, and the COC calls the event?nn[ Edited on28/9/2005 by flashman ]

I had already contacted Barry Thew and he told me the results will count, but I just found the regs...

11. Official Runs:
All runs will be official on the day of the event. At each climb competitors must
have available to them at least four (4) runs, unless, through force majeure, it
becomes impossible for competitors to complete the official runs, in which case the
Clerk of Course may, in his discretion, decide that certain classes have completed
an additional run, then the times recorded for that run for those classes shall be
scored for class awards only. At some courses where practical and at the
organisers discretion, there may be provision for a second vehicle to start before
the other car has completed his run.

Knew there was something in there about 4 runs, just didnt remember the force majeure.
