ok.
has a 72 steering wheel and later steeringwheel.
has a padded dash.....not the same as a later 1303 dash. not sure on this one (DIY 71's did not have a padded dash) im sure however i have seen
padded dashes for flat dash supers for sale in US mags.
wheels are 8 spoke super lites. (i think thats the name) as far as i know they are a pretty common aussie made mag wheel.
the seats......they look pretty damn cool actually. definatly not stock superbug stuff. a 71 would have had standard highbacks. probobly added
aftermarket from another car or a 3rd party seat company.
has aftermarket window winders and eye lids
and run of the mill superbug pop outs.....nothing special or rare there.
no heres my argument as to why its not a special model.
it has quite a few aftermarket additions u would find on a lightly cosmetically modifed superbug.
ie: window winders, eye lids, popouts, wheels.
which leaves u a padded dash which was possibly after market anyway and some fancy seats.
so basically u are paying extra for some fancy seats.
if it has the above mentioned mods that were obviously made after origional purchase then whats to say the other strange things about it arent just
other mods? considering theres no special badging or paperwork?

id put it down to a 1972 superbug thats been modifyed a bit and then sold to him with a bogus claim of being special.

Also the bumpers with the rubber insert were never for a standard model (my old marathon beetle had 'em and that was '72) and I believe you're
correct about the number of vents in the lid. The LS on the lid though was how the cabriolets were badged in Europe but if it's a good car get it, I
mean what's the chances of getting a thirty odd year old car that's never been modified/changed in any way!
