Just like you can register a long wheel base buggy as a modified production vehicle (rebodied LH5/LH6 so only the body needs to meet the new ADR's) or an ICV where the whole car needs to meet the ADR's.

I am aware of the 'loopholes' in the current Qld legistaltion/CoP compare dto NSW's, but any engineer who is willing to risk his career by registering a 1970s Bug body as conforming to current ADRs is an idiot.

imho getting a kombi to run 12.01 cannot be done with a wrx engine but maybe in two decades or so it'll get somewhere close:kiss the quickest cars up here sunny coast are all rotors id love to put one in a manx but i rekon it'd be scary even at 120-130kph

12-second WRXs are a dime a dozen where I come from. Can't be too hard to get a lighter Kombi going that quick!

As long as you modify it to meet current ADR's your fine. The sharpbuilt and Iguana buggies both have to meet current ADR's on the body. Making an existing body meet them is easier than making a fibreglass body meet them.

Out of interest, I recently saw a Suzuki Sierra with a V8 in it that was registered as an ICV. It was very wild and somewhat dodgy.

vwcool that is a 12.01. basically an "11 second car" as people would state.

also consider the aerodynamics of a brick...theres ya kombi. i remember he was making some huige power with a 13bt and only running high 12's? or low 13's?

not as easy as you would think.

no denying rotarys kick arse.

neil, if it was a 13bt i would.

Many JDM importers don't carry 1980s rotors any more. There are none remaining. As for your build, putting a turbo on after the car is engineered is...wellllll... don't crash unless you like playing Mummies and Daddies with Big Bubba

Err.. what is it you are trying to say?
ok just for you in laymans terms 1)if you think it "cant be that hard " to get a kombi to run 12's ----do it
2) big noting that "12sec wrx's are a dime a dozen" doesnt impress anyone as 10 second rotors are common place nowdays
3) you have obviously learned to read well done, next step is comprehention thats being able to understand what you have read no go back to the first post and read iit 3 times very slowly then come back here and read no 4
4) see the part about not wanting to hear about subies

I saw a really nice one at DOVW in Melbourne two years ago. Beautiful custom fabrication etc. Think the bug was blue?

I now drive a rotary powerd vw
All I can say is it is a rush FUN FUN FUN
if the car is set up properly 200kph at the end of a dragstip feels great in a manx especially when the V8 is so far behind
