When you say "front, middle and rear" with the berg style mid mount do you still retain the factory cone mount? I cut mine off because it didnt fit when I moved the engine forward 35mm (dont ask).

How critical are the pivot arm bushes?

I replaced the torsion bar bushes, inner with rubber and outers with poly (thats all I could get at such sort notice). Its now tramping on normal take offs. The only way to stop it is by reving hard and riding the clutch heavily.

The pivot arm bushes do look stuffed one of them has bits hanging out the sides.

Is this a thread Hijack? Sorry if it is.

Sounds like your prob is clutch shudder. You dont get axle tramp on normal take off's!
Clutch shudder is caused from oil on the clutch drive plate or incorrect bowden tube adjustment or damaged pressure plate [less common].

Clutch shudder won't make 'car jump up and down' but it will shake the shell enough to rattle the doors and windows. Quite unpleasant

My Bug has a Berg front mount which I actually modified so I didn't have to weld. I also have a Berg Engine bar and I've experienced no wheel hop from memory!...............
