It was me....
Matt,
I deleted my own post thinking that I didnt want to hijack it or send it off track, just having a joke with Col that is all. I actually thought you
were suggesting to me that I should delete it, for that reason.
So this time at least it was an innocent deletion.
Cheers

Fish 26...The purpose of these straps on my rig is to limit body rise at speed-200ks & upwards. They mimimise
bump steer tendencies as they reduce tie rod angle changes. One has to be careful on the set up
that you don't rob the vehicle of suspension absorbancy. Its like every modification full of some sort of compromise..Ross.

Hey Ross, I think you posted in the wrong thread mate. Thats why I said they should only be used on faster cars, stabilizing the front end.

am i an optimist with my 12.9? i hope the ida vents are real big with jets to suit the top end. from past experience with similar setups in both my
friends super and my manx, 12s should not be too hard especially since its big cc. all i say is go slug55 its gonna be one fun bug

I was running 13.7 s on radials (1.9 60 fts) with the old 2276, full interior, with a 5 speed, missing third gear pretty badly. Carbs are two hole
progression, not modded 1.21 4th ( 5 speed now a 4) so it wont see much street action...
Heads are 46 x 37 ultra wedgeports...
Car is reasonably well set up... like you say down to launching it well and getting it down the track...

If you get the tune sorted, I think you should have no trouble getting into the 12.9s
hang on ...11.9s.

Yep the tune.... I have 42 and 44mm vents, running 42s at this stage F7, 65 idle, 120idle holders, 175 main,190 airs. Will work it from there... After
the Friday meet next week, there is a T and T the week after on the Sunday... see how I go, and what I break.

12.872@166 ks.1.85 60 ft, made it to the C3 (NA 4,6 and rotors) final and got beaten by a rotor... Im pretty stoked, and theres lots more in it yet
!!
vid of the 12.90 run... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uhXMB7oxf4
sounds pretty rough at the top of third, more tunuing required !!!
Launching at 3800. Have a fair amount of suspension work to do to get out of the hole faster, and it was a bit loose at the top end on some runs.

Awesome effort!
Be good to see how fast it is with correct mixtures,
andless spin off the starts.
Third gear sounds like it goes for ever!

Yeah, im changing into 4th maybe 100 feet from the line... not the best, Im pretty sure its a 1.48 3rd, 1.21 4th... 388 r and p
Im thinking some $$ on the dyno might be well spent
r/t in the final was .075 (vs. .233) - Im convinced its due to the time i put in with the kids on the playstation

great stuff, good time first time out. agree wit dave too much wheel spin, [not sure how u do better without slicks] plus if u can launch higher revs
off start without spinnin u should get 4th earlier

Great stuff mate, I was a full 1 sec off your time, square up the rear wheels @ launch and stiffen the front so it don't get loose, what suspension
and box are you running now?
Once again, props; it takes a lot of work to run in the 12s.
PS. So what do you think of the FK87 and when does it come on in your combo?

The healthy part about the wheel spin is the gear box and axles will last for ages.

Stock rear shocks, IRS, T2 CVs, Front end has dropped spindles and slightly narrowed. The dropped spindles are getting changed before the next outing
(2 weeks).
I was running M and H dot legal slicks, couldnt get them to stick as well as I would like, running 18lbs air in them... It was pretty cold though, and
those runs were close to midnight...
