I think you'll find the suppliers in the US are more global savvy, and therefore focus on their internet sales. Whereby Australia is a different
market, and the relationships forged are different too.
My usual approach is to pick up the phone, or drive to the shop on a Saturday morning. That way, you get out in your car, and your provider gets to
put a face to his client base. Plus you get to have a chin wag as well.

Very topical post for me.
I live far enough away from any supplier that Email (and phone) are usually my number 1 and 2 methods.
I sent an email for two striker plates the other day and received an email within 2 days.
I must admit I was NOT expecting lightning service at Xmas. So I was quite happy with the response.
I would stick to Aussie sellers as much as possible but suspect that the cheapest and easiest usually get most peoples business.
