Dear "Dangerous Dave"...Thank you for the squiz down memory lane with the pics !!! Yes that is definitely Henry lending a hand & dishing out wisdom before a pass at Willowbank.Henry now works for the NRMA in NSW & instructs
field service knowledge to the breakdown crew in the network. He always looks me up & I make sure that he comes around for a meal at diinnertime...that way I know he is not on the milkshakes & pies like "Rocketman" Rod Penrose.
The 2nd engine (2440) fitted to Houndog that was used at Surfers in 84 & Canberra in 89 was purchased by Henry & I am pretty sure it was turbo modified & used in the Ghia project of Mark's car as Henry had some form of racing/mateship relationship with Mark.I do remember Pagey well..he was only a young boy when I first saw his yellow bug at the Valla Spectacular in the 80's...I also remember the immaculate presentation of his car...well done Pagey.I envy his hairstyle back then as I do not know how to use a comb anymore !!!!

Wow that brings back some great memories.... 92-94 in particular as I was living in Sydney back then and hanging with the Hellbug crowd.... I have some nice pics of Henry and B4's Ovals near the lake at Oran park somewhere, plus pics of Marks Ghia, the old blown 1776 (?) motor in your pan car Dave, Keith H's EFI/intercooled/T04 Blue Oval and heap of other cool shots.... Must drag them out....

I think it was 95 that I drove from here in WA, via Adelaide to make the nationals... B4, AB and myself had an awesome road trip too... We must do that again next year I reckon... Maybe to Portland next time!

FUCH your early!

I found this picture when I was moving house recently. It was probably about late 1997 at Willowbank. Car had the 1835 motor at this time with 48IDA's. I will have to check my notes but best ET/MPH of this setup was around 11.89 @ 111MPH.

1992 winternationals.

As you can see I was ahead of Ross in this photo.

http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n216/dangerous_05/RossandI.jpg

Actually the truth was that Ross had run well into the tens by then,
but on this run,
he ran an 11.1 @ 120mph,
and I broke a type 1 CV joint.

for those who dont know me or my car, these pics were taken about a year and a half ago, totally different now:crazy:

When I was young coming first was a proud moment.
Now coming second is much better for my image with the ladies.
