hmmm

i do like low bugs, dont get me wrong, but those are just ridiculous, and they dont look that flask, look at the way the rear wheel folds out as if it needs a wheel allignment....
personally i think the whole ideas crap, i say drop it to about the ride height of Mark Gattwolts "FWOOR" VW, nice and low without over steeping.

wan't the original idea of lowering to lower the centre of gravity? well that i think has gone past that. Don't mind a tough stance, but hate cars that are low, just to be low :puke

Its that whole ricer image of being seen, and not always driven. To me a car is meant to be driven, sure it can look good to, but there is a line between performance mod and looks mods that are slower. Its like that ricer, whats the point? or the big wings that are going to add heaps more drag, and add little downforce.

Sorry for the rant, i just hate cars like that!!!!!!!!!!!!

Comparing those Pics to Ricers is way off! I mean, they dont have body kits (which look totally wrong!) And the fact is yeah ok the point of lowering the car is for the whole centre of Gravity thing, but Who cares! I mean its about the "look"! And I will tell you another thing, You have a car with Bags, that sits 3/4 of an inch of the ground, then at a touch of a button, it raises to 5 inches off the ground, and Will ride better than anything! I say Each to there own! The other thing you have to remember is Most of these cars get driven every now and then! Doesnt neceserally make them Show Ponies! If you are a sales rep for a company, would you drive your dub all day everyday, especially when you would have a company car?

Just My 2 cents!

PS I dont like Bajas, and Late models, but I dont sit here critisizing them!....

iam not having a go at the cars , but the whole philosphy behind them. eg looks above performance. PERSONALLY i don't like that idea. BUT if u do so much the better. We are entilted to our opinion which is what I expressed, the same way that u can express urs.

THats cool, But who says these cars have got no performance? You can have both looks and Performance! But by critisizing the "idea" of the cars, You are also Critisizing "my Idea" of a nice car! My car will almost be hitting the Ground when finished, and will be running a bigger than standard motor, but belive me will handle quite well compared to most Bugs! Yes It will have airbags, and yes It wont be driven that often (thats what Ive got my notch for!) But thats the way I like my cars, THE LOWER THE BETTER! Quite simple really, If you dont like that on your car, dont do it!!! If you like Big tyres and Widened Mud guards, put them on, Its your choice!

N!:thumb

PS A simple topic Called "How low can YOU go?" has made this into a debatable arguement, but at the end of the day the title says it all!!!!

Take a breath....and....exhale....ahhhhhh

Sheesh guys...Nectar has a point. Each to their own as Nectar has said.....and that should be the end of the arguement.

Whether your car is restored, vintage, original, slammed, cal, resto, baja, custom, plastic or whatever.....the important thing is they are all VW.

It really gets my Alf Stewart when people don't respect what others have done to their VW. I don't like certain styles myself, but I don't go complaining to the person about what they've done to their car - instead I appreciate the work and effort. Why? - because it is their car - and they've put effort and heart into it - and that should be all that matters.

It all comes down to one thing....RESPECT.

And that is what we should all have for each other. What started out as a thread showing how low people can go, has evolved into a bash the slammed look.

Leave it alone. It's a VW.

N, I feel where your comin from tho.
I only put this topic up to show the people who are into the look some really cool cars, I didn't expect people to start arguing about which look is better, the way I see itis, if it saves another VW from goin to the big scrap yard in the sky then do it, but do it what ever way YOU want to!

I reckon it's great everyone likes something different, or we would all have the same cars. :(

Wheels and height are the quickest easiest way to alter a vehicles look. Beauty of it is it can be undone or redone. (except in extreeeeeeeme cases)
