4th year Apprentice Auto Sparky. 7 months to go!!!.

So I work on cars all day, go home and work on cars and motorbikes. All my work mate think I'm nuts.
I've been designated the workshop "Veedub Expert/Freak" and get all the ones that come in the door. So if anyone needs some wiring work done in Brissie I'm at Holland Park Auto Electrics on Logan rd next to the BP.

Started - in1956 - as a Panelbeater, and later in the sheet- metal business. Now retired? Spend most of my time 'mucking about' with old VWs and Porsches. Current projects include ;- 356B, '56 VW Cab., '59 Beetle racer, '75 Beetle racer. If any time left, drive my sons' truck.

Cheers, Greg

casual pool shop assistant... aren't i the pimp! pimp of chlorine and acid mind you!

brings in the quid to fund my studies of my bachelor degree of mechanical engineering at QUT. neah... its alright... i luv it... but the women in engineering aren't as kool as the ones in architecture... if there are even any women present occasionally. (it gets a little like that....). a mass majority of fellow geeks, urkels and intellegent yet unshaven, badly smelling arrogant hippies are probably what keeps em' away.

Senior Cynic and HR hater in a team of analyst programmers but do very little analysing, and not much more programming. At the moment my job is going through our 2013 outstanding jobs, trying to do a cost benefit analysis, while trying to sort though the bullshit that every users spins saying that their job is absolutely crucial to world harmony. One of which is the CIO asking for a 32GB USB stick. You'd think someone on maybe 400 thou would call into Officeworks on their way home and get one.

But I actually like my job. So long as I attend 5 days, total 35 hours per week and get work done I'm pretty much a free agent.

in Australia it's now commercial airlner stuff.
We have one last military project left but it's small.
We are now called Boeing aerostructures Australia. Design jobs tend to be 10 years apart and we are now on derivatives (stretch versions of exiting planes)
place has changed heaps over last few years.
Australian injenuity is shrinking as we become more and more aligned with mother Boeing.
Great springboard though. Most of the junior guys I trained up are now overseas on big bucks. Heaps of work available world wide at the moment

Well, lots of people bring me papers. I sort them into chronological order. And then into alphabetical order. Every day I give these papers to a man who takes them away and later in the day brings them back to me, totally out of order. Then I do it again. Its really challenging. And frustrating. Cause you have to remember the same numbers and letters in the same order every day.

Once upon a time when I was a policeman, I used to be the man who took the papers away and brought them back totally out of order. Now that was a satisfying job!

As an aside, Ive got a little spider in my office who is also a web designer. But the trouble is, he makes the same design every time. Never misses. We are both models of consistency really.
