No. it's just a prop at the moment. Need to make a plenum etc to match intake to blower and blower to carb.
It's well under way though.

I had one of these toyota blowers not too long ago and found out you can't run a draw-through carb set up on them. The screws are made of nylon and I
was told that because they were made for an EFI engine drawing fuel through it will degrade them and also mix fuel with the oil in the sump in the
blower which will wear out the bearings in it.
I had mine for a long time and tried many times to find a simple way to fit it to a vw engine but could never seem to work it out.
Good luck with the build i would love to see one of these work on a street driven car.

No kidding!
where did ya find this info out?
As what Greedy53 ( think it was him) was saying about the dellorto's and webers being capable of being well sealed for blow through, but with the
added complications and difficulty, at least there is an opportunity of a blow through setup then i guess.
Hmm... intercooler too.
again though, seal issues.

Thanks for the info. I have heard this but never from anyone with first hand experience. I believe the Goggomobil runs an injected draw through setup.
Also it won't be street driven. Time will tell I guess.

that ones a myth
100s of people have disproved that over the years
the lobes are metal with a flourine coating and stand up fine to a fuel charge through them, infact running the mix through them helps cool them
the only way u would ruin one is if it was truely f**ked to start with with buggerered bearings and the coating lifting off the lobes
the bearings are actually completly sealed off from the vane area and are totally buried in epoxy anyway so u would never kill them with fuel
mine ran happily at upto 10psi in my bug and still looks the same inside now as wehn i first put it on
this is what f88ks them
when the bearings get slopply and the vanes rub on the housing wearing away the flourine

Ah! thats schweet!
i was worried after hearing that... and went and asking on the samba of info.
Thanks Joel.
Carb prep for blow through would be irritating. The only bolt on and go carb to do the job i found so far is the following:
http://www.lowbugget.com/2_barrel_and_4_barrel_carbs.html
Looking at $650 US (eek) for the kit with manifolds.
They are a modified holley carb. starting at 2 barrel 350cfm. (enough for 1600)
As they say:
"For this kit we use a Holley 350cfm 2 barrel with turbo "Adjust-A-Jet"
"Yes" with the turbo "Adjust-A-Jet" there is no jets to change,
just turn one screw to make the carb run richer or leaner.
We pre-set the carb for you to start out of the box.
The carb comes with a boosted turbo power valve.
This Turbo power valve opens once above 2lbs of boost.
It will feed the extra fuel when needid.
Each carb comes with "Turbo Adjust-A-Jet."
With this neat main block you no longer have to change main jets.
No more opening of the float bowl and spilling all that fuel.
Just turn the main screw that is located on the top of your carb to make your combo run more rich or lean!
Its that easy to adjust the flow of your main jet!
What about the idel jets?
Holley dose not have any! Well they do but there not jets,
just turn a screw to make the combo run more rich or lean @ idle.
They also control the off-idle adjustments so any adjustments will only need a screwdriver.
"
But as you have proved Joel... $500 alone can set up a draw through :P

I did some research so far on blow though, and there are heaps who have done it in every car possible. particularly the rotors and v8 crew.
here is a guy who modded a 34-pict stock solex carb to take 10psi boost in his buggy, rekons he has wound it up and got 140hp out of his 1600 34 pict
motor. Not bad!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17yVbCmUTTg
his build thread:
http://www.shoptalkforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=118340
I have some more research into dellorto and weber prepping. Apparently its a general formula. if you have a well sealed carb, you equalise the
pressure with the float bowl by venting it to the boosted air stream... Then have a boost dependant fuel pressure regulator with an
electric fuel pump running the show. Then its a matter of playing with jetting till you get it appropriate. Apparently with the boost dependant
regulator, the jets will run normal when your just chuggin... then they got an ommph when boost is on. I will have to do more research into the jet
setup.
One source said about having a pressure based switch circuit to 'inject' in an extra fuel spray when a certain level of boost is achieved.
I got my feelers out anyways.
I don't wanna spend a fortune... i just want to be somewhat different.

There are two types of toyota supercharger one is off the 4-agze 4cyl 1.6 and the other is off the 1-ggze 6cyl 2.0.I had the one off the 1-ggze i'm
pretty sure the 4-a blower has the metal screws and the 1-g blower has nylon.
I had the side off mine and they defiantly weren't made of metal.

won't draw through is crap when i did mine i rang toyota service help and they were very helpful ,a draw through is no problems and i ran mine for 2
years and it was still going 2 years later when i lost touch .i must admit that the 12 blower is only good to a 1641 and will pump out 85-90 hp at the
wheels, the 1776 needs more air to run nice
so if you want to go up hills as if there flat go with a 1600-1641
happy blowing joel's thread is very helpfil and is a great hand book for the set up,a delorto is great and to start set it to a 2 lit jetting

vic, it must be the later SC14s that have nylon lobes then
the one i had was certainly metal and coated like my SC12s but it was a very early one

so what yr SC12 should i look for if going draw through?
i still haven't made decisions...
its like...:
1) make it easy on myself and do whats been done... (Like Joels... cause its simple... effective, awesome & compact... and there isn't much other
way to do it logically).
2) or do a blow through and do something different in the avd community. If i get the carb layout right... then i will be alright. I'm sure i will
sort it out this way. I did some rediculous stuff on the celica that was only achieved through forceful necessity and pressure. I'm sure i can put
that into practice here in this situation, particularly with next valla coming.

manafolds are also proven, the first set up took 3 months just to get the basic manafolds worked out.so do your own and show all what you can do on ya

well the bright side is there is no custom manifolds as i can use orig carby and manifolds and linkages... and the rest of the plumbing can be done by
the high pressure tubin available from autobarn. the earthy orange stuff on the inside, blue on the out.
The intercooler tubing
As long as i work out sealing and fuel delivery, supercharger mounting and the rest of the spaz, as well as how to secure it so bogans don't steal it
from the baja... then i should be set. alot of work i understand that very well... but willing to give it a crack.
If i fail that much.. then i will have the equipment for draw through anyways...
These moving worlds things aren't a first for me

theres 2 different model of SC12
the early ones like mine on the bug with the big pulley and the later map engine ones with the smaller pulley, i had one of those as a spare and the
blower itself is no different just the pulley setup
i bought an SU carb for mine i was gonna setup in blow through but blow thro really are a pig to setup and much more complicated requireing a boost
ref reg, fuel return line, blow off valve etc
all for no real gain
my old turbo setup was blow through and was no more drivable than the drawthrough

I had an SU on mine also.I made the manifold up and got it on the motor first,my plan was to get it on and running with the SU by itself first then
mount the blower but I couldn't
get the SU to run right by itself let alone with a blower bolted on it so i ditched that idea.
I'm keen to see your progress with this setup.
oh and my blower was off a late 80's crown engine.

ah yea, mine was out of some JDM import chaser or aristo something like that
just out of curiosity was your setup for a beetle?
i got my SC14 cos my SC12 was getting close to its limits on my 1776 at 10psi but found the SC14 was just too long to make fit in a bug
the drive pulley for it would have ended up about 4" out from the crank

Yeah I tried to fit it in my beetle with the SU.When I had the fan shroud off I could fit it in with a set of engine lid risers on.My plan was to cut
the fan shroud down a bit and get a custom pulley made with a small pulley closest to the crankcase to keep the charger back as far as possible and
not to put too much pressure on the crank bearing, then a standard pulley for the alternator on the outside. The alternator would also need a custom
pulley to compensate for the new belt position.
After this I was playing around with the idea of putting it on my kombi but it was way too much trouble.
I sold it to a mate a couple of weeks back.he's putting it in a civic.
