Hey thanks Andrew,
Its been great fun working on it, took a bit of patience getting it on the road, but well worth it. Gets a hell of a lot of attention like you said it
would.
Would be great if you can find that stuff, i'm interested to track back through the history of the car, the old rego papers will go a long way to
helping.

Hey dude,
Its in at Tires n More Stanmore as we speak, they are looking over the whole brakes rig and seeing what could do with replacing. It was also
slouching lower in the front right corner so they are having a look at the shock in there to see if its shot.
Hopefully hear from them today with what they found. Fingers crossed for a cheap fix.
Painted yours yet ? :P

Ah good good. I'm happy it's in the workshop. Fingers crossed it's not too pricey.
I was hoping to paint this weekend. The notch is also in the workshop having a load of repairs done  We're at $1,100 so far and climbing!

Haha. Yeah when he called me I had a little heart attack in my office. But then I realised that I haven't spent any money on the engine or anything
mechanical. He's doing a big list of work that will make the car drive loads better. Although, this bill will dip into my funds which woulda been
going towards an oval

Still tinkering, added flappers and D plate. Couple of weeks ago had master cylinder replaced and 1 rear cylinder replaced, all rubber breake hoses
replaced.
I wanna protect the patina, (Ankor Wax or Clear paint) but the bonnet needs to be attended too first, I think its a replacement cause its still
glossy, (rest of the cars paint is oxidized), not the same shade of gray and there is this horrible bright yellow paint under the gray. The paint on
the bonnet is also BADLY sunburnt, cracking and flaking off. So i started rubbing it back.
No i'm not repainting it.

This should make some of you laugh.
Took my bug into the mechanic across the road on Saturday for oil and plugs, go it back , car sounded different, better, lots better, like a VW, and
not a sick one, and it has about 40% more power.
Asked the Mechanic what he did to it, he said nothing, just oil and plugs, but #3 spark plug was faulty. hasn't been firing at all, now all 4 plugs
are firing.
Best xmas present I could have asked for.

Thanks Liam for lending a hand this morning, (by hand I mean trailer and green monster truck) Hopefully this will be the last time I have to trailer
her away for repairs, dropped out to Adam and Mike at RAW this morning, having a rebuilt 1300 put in.

Cars going great, few tiny teething murmers, but its all settling down nicely, funny about old cars, as you put more and more new bits in them, the
oldest parts really become more obvious, but all in all its holding up quite nicely.

Right, so with all this rain I have been having a bit of a mare trying to commit to a rust prevention / rain repellent / polish.. So i bit the bullet
tonight, after a lot of reading about different methods of application , techniques, results and combinations, I ended up going with Ankor Wax,
Brushed on, then 10 mins later rubbed even with a soft cloth, then after another 15 mins buffed up to a shine, the I followed that up with a Meguiars
wax, let that set on top and polished up ..
I only managed to get half the car done tonight .. Came up pretty sweet so far.
