hey courierboy
I was checking out cars at the Sydney Nationals yesterday and saw some cool glamours and some cool rats, I think its cool to see you get out there and
show your perspective of a car. there will always be lovers and haters of what you do. I have had a 74 under a carport for 5 years its not going
anywhere fast. Good on you for getting out there in the scene. look forward to seeing pics of its progress.
Its fun to build them, but its great to drive them!

How's it coming along Courierboy?
I cop shit from someone or another almost everytime I take mine out, and the only mods on mine are a slightly narrowed front beam and a healthy amount
of lowering at both ends.
Free lectures from some people used to annoy me especially when they're super critical of what you've chosen to do. But then I guess as long as your
car puts a grin on your dial and its what you love, they don't really matter.
One of my favourite cars at the Sydney Nationals last week was a blue and white beetle on airbags - the 'look' was deliberate (paint removed etc)
and it looked the absolute business. There were plenty of awesome original and restored rides there too, I can appreciate 'em all, your ride included
- NICE JOB..
Keep faithful to what YOU like, and keep the pics and updates coming.

In the pursuit of originality and cool another car gets bastardized, it's neither rat nor rod, it's also not about purists having an opinion, it is
only a SHAME.

I restore cars for a living, yet our 40 year old Beetle has mostly original paint that is faded, worn through to primer and nature has shown the age.
People often ask why I have not restored it, and I always say that I cannot make a true worn original paint finish. Patina that is real is real.

I like the no fabric seats they look mint. How do you go on QLD roads? I assume this is not your daily driver or it would have been defected by now,
especially being on the gold coast?

Hmmm, I'm perplexed.
I will wait until your finished before I pass judgement. I only ask that whatever you do, do it properly.
Best of luck,

Good on you for having an idea and trying to achieve it. I like folk who don't want to drive around in yet another dub that looks like it's just
been wheeled out of the factory. It's your car do what you want to it. Nice work... and yes fellas try and remember, this is the 'rats and rods'
forum.

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car. Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far you take the wall with you.
