Hey Barls go to the Pinky's swap meet site and have a look at the prices for the listed swap meets. Then tell me how many are $40 or more. Proof
enough.

Sellers put there prices up,then no one will pay higher prices for parts so the swapper loser out both ways.
not a very smart move gumby???

Hey Barls et all this is starting to get political and should be moved to that other place where things that people have opinions about should be
put!
Nah dont , just kidding topic's like this are what forums are great for. Where real interest discussion and opinion can be shared. Now that such
topics get shafted I believe the forum has suffered.
If you dont believe me compare the daily traffic we get now to when this forum was in its hey day.

Nothing beats going to a good show and swap, even with all the bling and show cars, theres nothing better than going to a swap sifting through all the
tin and assorted parts looking for that hard to find peice youve been searching for or just enjoy the atmosphere without the ebay prices.
the whole idea of going to a swap is also to also find a bargain where the seller just wants rid of there stuff and happy with a couple of extra bucks
spending money.
Greedy swap meet holders are only turning it to ebay on wheels. by forcing the stall holders to up there prices. just not the same is it.
ive been away for a few months, i see BARLS still has to go opposite to the grain. on ya barls!!!!!!
lets hope they get the message of what is being said in this forum before barls shuts it down.

i see you still have a bee in your bonnet about that post i removed almost a year ago. get over it and move on, better yet start up your own swap meet
and charge what you like for it.
ps i did look at pinky’s and while most of them were less how many are actually a vw only event that are below that figure.

So what are you saying that VW swaps are run by rip off merchants and the others are encouraging more sellers and buyers to theirs? Huuuumm strange
logic.

no what im saying its comparing oranges and apples.
if you want to call one of the vw clubs a bunch of rip off merchants, go for it yourselves. dont put words in my mouth by trying to twist what im
saying.
i did notice that most of the ones that had cheaper site prices also had a higher entry fee. so go figure we are talking about a lower entry fee with
a higher site fee.

this is funny shit , half of the people going on about the price live out of the area and are more then likely not even going to the show.

I'd almost pay all you complainers $40 NOT to go. I'd prefer the place to be filled with people that want to talk about cars...
Just because barls speaks up, it doesn't mean that he's the only one that feels the same way.

at first i was beginning to regret starting the poll related to this
now im greatful - cheers for the constructive opinions.
would it make anyone feel any better if the respective club events had a list of how much the spend to make the day happen compared to how much they
get out of each potential entrant?
how many would be shocked to see that theres no profit in car clubs?
how many have forgotten that fact?
see all the other people happy to have VW shows/swap meets there!
im driving from brissy for it, so are alot of watercooled people, must be mad!

Guys,
It is $40.00.
That is nothing, when comes to the cost of pursuing our Classic VW hobby.
Think of all the benefits of selling/swapping parts @ the Nationals.
1 - All those VW enthusiasts trawling your stall.
2 - Not having to take photos and uploading them to various sites.
3 - Not having to organise postage and handling.
4 - Receiving payment, immediately.
5 - Location, location, location.
40 bucks, it is worth it for the convenience and easier advertising.
Zayus
Note: I am not affliated with Club VeeDub, although, I have been to plenty of their shows.
And, I did prefer the old outdoor site @ Parklea, to the current site @ Fairfield.
There is nothing quite like the shine of a vintage VW or a hot Cal-Looker under sunshine and blue skies.
