few minor mods the relatively stock engine puts out now around 190-200hp in the one of the lightest commy of all at only 1250Kg. 0-100 in 6.5~ sec.
used to do 0-100 in 12sec. Don't know what happen there oh only a near complete rebuilt of the car and it still looks like a POS
with all the paint looking like used sand paper It what inside that
counts and P/W ratio make a difference.
Most cars are 1700Kg now. ffs a 2001 Hyundai accent weighs more than my commy sad but true
That's old news, we already know thanks to boostcruising that Buick V6 commodores are the fastest thing on 4 wheels.
It's funny how newer cars are still getting heavier even though the metal quality is going down the shit shoot.
My old man is looking at a Peugeot RCZ which has a turbo 1.6L but is 1400Kg, I was expecting a pretty slow time but surprinsgly 7.5secs.

I am thinking of getting a nice VR preferably a acclaim or berlina as they typically had IRS.
Then waving some of my magic over it. There is plenty of weight reduction to be done on these commys.
Most of the weight reduction is done via drive-train and exhaust. oh and AC, who needs AC? also changing to a cheaper aluminum radiator
looses around 4-5kg and even though the Al rads don't transfer heat as good and to make matters worse are thinner too, but out of experience these is
no real notable loss in cooling. The V6's don't produce much heat for their size. It's when engine heat output exceeds radiator heat dissipation
then you have problems.
I think the VR was the best commy ever made as is had much improved body design, the dash was made from a much better plastic and looked better, it
was the last gen of the buick with a whopping 9:1 CR and sequential injection, IRS was more common, the paint was somewhat better than the VN-VP and
heaps better than the VS-VT
best part of all the VR was only about 50~kg more than the VP. its from the VS they started to get heavy.
The thing that makes me like commys (mainly from VL-VR) is they are not really aussie cars. Mix of opel, buick and in the case of the manual versions
also some mustang mixed in there. I bought Mustang parts from the US for my VP as the were NA here.
I am in Switzerland right now and there is tons of commys I mean opel same models and names as the commy in oz lol just some small differences.
